302 engine temp varies

302 engine temp varies

When I am driving normally not in tow my temp guage varies back and fourth from the cool bar then back the "n" on normal. What is causing this? It will slowly dive down then go back up. Does not too it when I'm pulling the 5th wheel, it stays at steady temp? Could this possibly a faulty gauge or sending unit?

Sounds like it to me, maybe if you clean the top of the sending unit and wire on the intake it would start functioning properly....let us know if it helps..later

The sending unit is on the front of the intake right?
