I know a dude who met some gals on the internet thru a religion-specific site.

Some good, some not so good, and we just went to the real good & his wedding.

I'd be reeeeeeaaaaalllllll careful if the site isn't doing some screening for you.

I find (and no offense to anyone) looking to the internet for a date sad. I won't get into the why part, but I just do. Meet a girl for who she really is, not for what she types she is.

my older brother has met and dated a few girls on the net, he says that he used to think it was a good way to get to know someone without all the sexual tension. after his experiences he says that theres no way to tell from reading and writing messages(and even phone conversations) if you have chemistry with someone. I have always felt that way. We are human beings who thrive on energy, and when two people stand close to one another, they can feel that energy and can tell if they are compatible(read: hot for eachother). im sure it works for some but not this cowboy!

i met my wife in a Yahoo Christian chat room about a year ago, and we just got married april 3rd of this year, i know im not supposed to talk about religion, but the way I see it, God, or fate, or whatever you believe in (for me its God) can use any medium He sees fit to bring that special someone into your life.

One of my close friends just divorced his wife (about 6 months ago) because she had cheated on him on the net meeting people from other towns. Now, 6 months later, he is planning on marrying an aquaintence from the net. Too crazy for me...

After two failed marriages and six years by myself I met my current wife on the internet. I can't imagine a more perfect match. We married about 6 months after we met and, after 3-1/2 years, are still just as happy and in Love as we were that day. I'm very, very lucky.

My younger sister (I'm 47 btw, and sis will be 40 next month...) also met her husband on the internet and it was another great match.

I really do believe, however, that we were astronomically lucky. Be very careful.

My ex- girlfriend currently has an ad of Yahoo personals. Everything on it is a crock, and no not just because she was with me. She goes so far as to say she has the best and lovely children. The boy just got out of prison for child molestation of which he got caught numerous times. And her daughter has drug 4 men through court accusing them of molesting her, all which were found innocent. It is just a tip of the iceberg of which she is really like, and bet me when I found out all this we split ( i nealry fell for it and almost helped them press charges). Pathetic thing is next poor guy is going to buy in to her poor me BS. I know a few people that have ran ads and it is about the same- so user beware I guess. But then again, what's the difference of them meeting you other than the internet and pulling the same scam. It is all a gamble.

Met my wife on the internet and I have never been happier. I have a wonderful wife- who lets me watch sports whenever I want- and a step-son who is great. I think you just have to be careful and take things slowly. Alot of people sound great on the net, but are "out there" in person. Met one of those, too. She had tons of money, and liked to spend it on me, but was just too weird for me.

i tried it... local chat rooms, personals ads... it was fun for a while... i met my girlfriend on one of those phone lines for singles but we talked on the phone a while before meeting

i don't think there's anything wrong with that. far as meeting psychos they're gonna get you anyway. up to you to be careful with people. i try not to listen to what people say so much as see what they do. but soon as i met my girlfriend's family i knew she was all right

if you're just looking for action go work as a telemarketer for a while... lots of college girls, party girls doing it for extra money, always looking for something to do after work

and you're making an extra paycheck so your wife won't suspect a thing. well my girlfriend would. when i was delivering pizzas when we bought the house she was paranoid some woman was gonna answer the door naked and all... she still let me go though cuz we needed every dollar.

It's nice to read success stories. I think the important thing is to be very very careful. A co-worker of mine (male) decided to try internet dating...just for fun. So he signed up...filled out the profile. He went on several dates with 6 women..after spending a great deal of time E-mailing them...but it gets better........

As he explained to me, most men will try to....score.....on the first date...MEN...but check this out..he dated 6 women...and 5 gave it up on the first date! What's up with that? His thought is that they obviously felt that they knew him well enough based on the E-mails...but...no way can you really know someone until you spend actual physical time with them. As a woman, I'm shocked that my species would "give it up" on the first date..to someone you've only E-mailed for a few weeks...but that's just me. So he got laid...but admitted that he did feel differently about them because they did "give it up" that early. He ended up dating the only one that didn't "give it up" immediately....for a few months...but ended it because she had a very crazy family.
So I say good luck to internet daters..but ladies (and men)...unless sex is all you are after..(which is ok as long as everyone is on the same page)..please take you time and get to know someone first! The first impression is the one that lasts forever.

I worked nights for a while and it kind of killed me being able to go out and meet other people so I figured I'd try that match.com program they have. I got a few dates out of it but I'd never do it again. For me personally it was just a money getting tossed to the side when I could have been using it on my truck.

You know some of them sites are $40 - 50 a month and then sometimes they want even more for extra features. Imagine the possibilities of using that money on your truck, hey it could buy you a new K&N Filter if you don't have one.
