Question turn signal issues

I noticed on my way home that my left turn signal gave out. I tried my right one just to see and it still worked, but when I got home neither of them worked.

Anyone got any ideas whats wrong?

preciate it.

First, did the signal quit all together or did it just stop flashing? Two different problems depending on the answer. If the signal just quit, you most likely have a faulty ground to one of the lamps in the signal circuit on that side of the truck. A loose ground will cause intermittant operation for the same reason as described below. If the signal stopped flashing but the lamps still lit, you have a lamp not seated in a socket or a lamp with a broken filament that is reconnecting to the filament support as a result of vibrations in the truck (i.e. going over bumps) on the left side of the truck. Thats the only way to explain the "works/doesn't work" scenario. Check all the lamps that flash with the signal on that side of the truck. Make sure they are making good contact in their sockets (corrosion) and that the filaments are not broken and flopping around inside the lamp.

I know it is rare, but I have had my bulbs go out both sides almost at the same time. Just check those for starters. Then try replacing the flasher relay. Its the little cylinder thing plugged into your fuse panel....About $4 at the parts store. From there, use your new manuals and start tracing back the wiring. Wiring diagrams are a big help.
