Speed Density Concerns
Howdy all,I made it to discussion #1000 and read alot of possible directions to take to rectify my situation.But being a little dence myself I thought I would ask for a bit more clarification.My 89 302 has 200 mi on fresh rebuild and had a Edelbrock performer cam and lifter kit put in.I have shorty headers(Summit) Accel ignition.MSD 8.5 wires,K&N fipk,3"cat back w/Flowmaster,plugs gapped at.050,Timing at 14 btdc,(seems to be the sweet spot).Had I known about this forum prior the cam would have remained stock.One (GOOD)thing is that this forum is now known of and will be referenced before I proceed with any more "brilliant"endeavors.Problem,runs like sheite.Hesitation from stop to start with light pedal,less responce than before rebuild,good compression on all cilinders.Cant seem to dial it in. Any body have budget minded suggestions please???

Lobe seps are 112, and where do I check the vacuum readings?I still need codes read,tomorrow after reader purchase today.Again any initial budget minded rectifications?I have read up to discussion 2500 and have seen your many posts.Remember my density.

yep the cam is the problem regardless of vacum. you need a different cam in there fella. i would call comp cam explain to them that you have a speed density 302 out of a bronco and they should be able to set you up with the proper cam that will make your motor drive much better. who sold you that one and who did the install?
make sure that what ever cam you go with that the lob seperation is 114* or higher period
