Truck cap dimensions
Can someone out there give me the dimensions off of their truck cap? I need one for a trip out west and have been offered the use of one but I need to know the dimensions before I can tell if it will fit my 04' Superduty. The cap is for an eight foot bed but I could use the width. The cap is only going to be on for about a week, and I'm not all that worried about what it'll look like, just so it's safe. A dimension from inside edge to inside edge would probably work. Or even from the center of the mounting ledge, where it clamps. Any help would be great.

If the cap is coming from a pre-1996 ford long bed then I believe it will be 73" x 100" and will be a true rectangle. It will fit your 04 "but" will hang considerably off the sides in the back because all the new trucks have a tapered bed for better mirror visability. The newer trucks are 3-4" more narrow at the back, so you would need to look into mounting methods.
