Exaust coming apart
I own a 96 Explorer that the connection between the catalytic converter and the muffler has come apart. when I climbed uder to have a look it looks as if there was a piece that slid over the muffler end before the pipe was flaired out and then the piece is bolted to a matching piece on the pipe coming from the catalytic converter. The pipe on bother ends looks fine but the piece that slides over the pipe has rusted to pieces. Is there a clamp or some thing that I can buy and in stall to correct this or am I stuck with buyind a new exaust at least from this connection back?

Most auto store sell exahust adapter sleeves. They vary in diameter and lengths. They also have adapters where the diameter is different on both ends to accomodate joining 2 pipes together that are different sizes. Measure what you need, and then go look for one. I also suggest getting some muffler cement to seal the connections.
