Question Window Scratches

On my truck the beltline weatherstrip, the wiper thing at the bottom of your front windows that presses against the window but allows it to roll up or down, has become old and cracked. I ordered a new set but there are small vertical lines in my windows from rolling them up and down with the old weatherstrips.

Does anyone have any hints about how to remove or hide the scratches in the glass? I appreciate it!

I used Cerium Oxide Polishing compound. It works well on shallow scratches. It takes a lot of polishing to remove deep scratches.

You might try gem polishing compounds. I was successful removing wiper arm marks from a windshield this way. You have to do it carefully and feather your work or you will get distortions in the glass. Look in your yellow pages for Lapidary Supplies.
