Well the stocker is just about cooked it got up to 250 coming back from tampa two weeks ago it sliping like a pig in OD and the converter is junk again this is two remans in a year
I've got a 02 F350 Crew Dually. Bought it used with 31000 on it. Has 41000 on it now. Mine went out the other day. When we pulled it out I found that it already had a rebuilt tranny in it from ford. Did a search on here and rebuilt it with a Transgo shift kit and new torque converter. Shifts as good as an Allison tranny now. I'm pleased with it now and I love my truck. But Ford should really look at their tranny program. 41000 and at least 3 transmissions is not a good record. Of course I have no idea about how the truck was run before I got it but the heaviest thing I towed was a race car and trailer (about 5000lbs). And mine dumped all the fluid through the front pump seal. Not very heavy duty in my opinion!
I'm having a trusted local shop do mine and it is getting a transgo tugger and a new T/C and some other up grades that are out there for the 4R/100 I'll let you know more when I get the truck back. JUst to clear things up I have smoked two reman converters not trannys

I've got a 97 F350 4X Crew w/banks power & trans command. Back in May with 67,000 miles A4OD torque con spun, had it replaced at very reputable local shop- $$. Started slipping in July, took it back to shop drivable but slipping, by that afternoon after their "diagnosis", tranny would'nt shift out of first!! Long story short--another new torque con and tranny rebuild plus new ECM!!$$$ Ouch!! Tranny guys say way too much torque for A4OD and get ready to do again. Banks says relax and use trans command should be OK. I'm afraid to put my foot into the power for fear of breaking again!! Should I see a shrink or buy a Pinto??
I have riden in two truck with BTS's and I wasn't impressed for the money they cost over $4000 by the time you ship it here and back. The shop that is doing the work has done a tranny for me in the past and he stands be hind his work. Told him what I would be doing with it and he said he could build it to last he also want tyo put amsoil in it but I dont know
lagerhead I am not being a wiseguy but I have to ask when you say you rode in the trucks with the bts trannys in them what were you not impressed with and what were you expecting it to feel like also what kind of mods were done to the trucks that you rode in because I lost 8 tenths of a second off of my quarter mile times after the bts went in just curious and I am not saying bts is the only great one out there ats has a nice trans too and a proven one at that I just hope that you aren't expecting a bts to be the equivalent of nitrous or something.
I don't know what I expected people talk about the lock up and the way they pull and it only seemed a little better than what i had. One of the truck had a set 530 hybryds and h2e and the other had stage 1 madgogs
thats fair enough,I guess it would depend on how good the trans was in the trucks before adding the bts,my truck is pretty heavily modified and I lost 8 tenths off my quarter mile so it seemed like a big difference to me I guess my other trans just sucked that bad lol,at any rate I finally am done with changing transmissions every 10,000 miles.
