two weeks ago i replaced the carrier/midship bearing on my 96 ranger
well the dang bolt clips broke that hold the bearing assembly in so found two that fit with a washer on top and bottom. while i was taking the drive shaft out the u- joint cap fell off and the neddle bearings went every ware. picked them up and cleaned them good, shoved them back in. for the past to weeks its ran great. i was up north by travers city MI went down a sandy two track. no noises untill the way home. it sounds like aluminum tent poles banging together. i get a bad vibration at 25,30-40,50-55, and at @70mph its shaking bad. bad enough that the driver side mirror is vibrating so bad i see blurs insted of cars.
so is this just a replace and go on or a dealer thing?
i have the wole weekend free to fix it so help please.
Man it's just gotta be that u joint chatterin. Put her in neutral with the parking brake on and get under there and shake and twist the driveshaft... you'll prolly see it is loose at the joint! I betcha that u joint is wore out!
And YES you can do it yourself.

sounds like when the bearings fell out out the cap..you say you "cleaned" them and put them back in..didn't hear anything about greasing them..so that was your problem..anytime the bearings fall out of a cap..it's usually easier to go buy a new Ujoint and put the new one back in ..but you're back together and up and running now.
