I have a '91 Aerostar XLT Ext. Usually when I accelerate moderately hard from a stop, the red "BRAKE" warning light comes on, along with the orange "REAR-ANTILOCK" light. They stay lit only for a few seconds, and then go out. The brakes feel just like they always have. This just started happening a week ago.
I was wondering if it was something to do with brake fluid level - maybe I have a leak??
Thank you for your help!

I know I'm kinda late on this one, but have you checked the fluid yet? It does sound like the fluid sensor in the M/C. You could have a leak, but most likely the fluid is in the calipers. On a disc brake system, when the pads get some miles on them and start to get thin, the caliper piston has to "adjust"(come out more) to make up the gap between the pads and rotors. When this happens, instead of all that extra fluid being in the M/C, its in the calipers.
I was a Ford/Lincoln tech for 15 years and we had a sensor problem on aerostars, but the light would come on and stay on. Your problem is different, it goes off. That leads me to beleive that its just the fluid level.
