well duh

You *might* get a little better mileage out of the 302, but the 351 is much better for performance.

new or used

theres a place called crazy ray's in md. there you pull parts and get them really cheap. is it worth putting in used engine part in the bronco i would like to get a used egr valve and the hose that goes somewhere! maybe pull an altenator, starter as well. is it worth doing or should i get new or remanufact.
dont know much about mechanics?

used mechanical parts are rarely going to be a good idea unless you're in a pinch or you plan on rebuilding them yourself. buying a used 351w and rebuilding it before you do the swap could work out very well, although a remanufacured shortblock won't be too much more and at least then you know it was done by a pro.
