transmission cooler

I'm going to purchase and install a tranny cooler and external filer for my 99 f350 dually. Which line is the return line back to the trannythe top line or the bottom line? I would like to make sure that the fluid goes through the Tru cool after going through the OEM cooler. Any help would be appreciated.

The return line is the one that goes to the back of your tranny.

Here are some instructions with pictures.

Thanks for the info. I actually got the external filter installed yesterday before I got your replies. I figured out wich line was what by tying a sandwich bag over the ends of the lines and cranking the truck over for a second. One bag filled up with fluid and the other was bone dry. I know its kind of primitive but it works. Before I go adding the truCool I have another question. It appears that the cooler on my truck may be an aftermarket anyhow, It goes all the way across the front about the size of the radiator and is about 10 inches high. Is this what they used stock or is it maybe an add on?
Thanks again.

Hey heatstroked,
I just looked at the thread for the tru cool installation and that cooler looks exactly like the one in my truck, Only difference is that it is installed between the A/C condensor and the radiator. That will make my wife happy that I can cancel the order on the new one LOL.
