Let me start by saying i am a new owner of a F150 and theses forums are helpful...lot of nice galleries out there. Now for my question b/c there seems to be some intelligent people here. If i install an aftermarket muffler do i have to replace the stock pipes. Will it sound the same if dont or will it make a difference? Also i was watching a show the other day that said that if you place bigger tires you are going to need bigger and better brakes.....is this true and do you have recalibrate anything if you add bigger tires or do any modifying. I know thats a lot of questions but im a new owner and want to make my truck look and sound good.
Depends on how much bigger you go.... In my opinion, you cant put big enough tires on a stock height truck to matter.
The muffle will sound different even if you leave the stock pipe. The OEM muffler is designed to be as quiet as possible, which in turn makes it less efficient. Most all free-flow mufflers will sound different than stock.
