Hi,
i need the operating instructions for my 92 F-250 4X4, can someone scan it and send it to me ? or has someone it as a *.pdf format ?
And something else,
i read the posts of the problem with the fuel tanks, now where i can look if this problem is fixed at my truck ? My VIN has no history, ( the car is from the US Airforce ) so i don´t know if the recall repair is already done.
and still another question, is there only one key for my car ? i mean, is the key for the doors the same as for starting ?
Fuel tanks problem, its call cross flow recalled. They added a fuel check valve in the fuel line ...problem is when your fuel is going from your rear tank to the front causing a buildup in pressure, then leaking fuel. Call ford Headquarters with your vin . number and they can tell you if it is needed and when/ if they did it. Recall is for only 12 years, I would check. Also register your truck with ford at the same time. Check at www.alldata.com for recall info. i believe it was on recall???
Hi,
Yes it was on recall, for the tank problem. Now i had to phone from Germany to the Ford HQ
hmm....
Can anybody explain me short, how i have to drive with the 2 tanks ( with the manula switch), because this is my first 2 tank PickUp. First the rear then the front ? or is it all the same ?
Something else, I can´t lock my doors from outside...
Thanks
Two fuel tanks, good question. Only go down to 1/4 tank then switch over. Doesn't matter which tank you use first , just use them both. If you wait for the tank to run out you may pull in some dirt into your fuel filter from the bottom of the rusty tank. Then it will run real bad or stall. Try calling USA Ford Head quarters with there free phone number , see www.ford.com Maybe email Ford with your vin number at www.ford.com Both doors don't work, there must be another key for the doors??? I have a oval head key for my doors and one square head key for the steering wheel switch on my 1987 f150. Ford should have a key number for your door key. Mine came with two tags one number for each key. If it cost to much to get one made you can get the locks out of the used trucks salvage yard. There are no dumb questions! except maybe...Lisa did you buy anything while you were at the mall today
Ok, thanks...
Yes both doors don´t work, i can completly put the key in the door lock but i cannot turn the key. Where is the number of the door lock ? I have only an square head key which also fits to the steering wheel switch and there i can turn the key. But quicklook wrote : "only one key " at the ´92.
no dumb questions ? Ok, I will notice it me ;-)
Thanks Andy
Sorry that's correct it has only one key, ignition and doors. Maybe they changed the key lock cylinder in the steering wheel or the doors are from another trucks??? Try using 10w40 in the door locks to lossen then up, but its odd that both doors don't work ?? I wounder how much it would cost to have a lock smith make a key, or get two doors or two door locks at a truck parts yard. Good Luck
Hi,
and still another question, is there only one key for my car ? i mean, is the key for the doors the same as for starting ?
Thanks
Andy
Normally there is only 1 key as far as I know. But the ignition lock cylinder going bad is a common thing, it happened to my 95. The good news is the new cylinder with keys is only $15 on Ebay, the bad news is if you lose the old keys you can't unlock the doors any more...
You will probably have to buy new door locks or maybe a locksmith could do something for you?
To begin with,
1) You should only have one key for the ignition and doors. I had my 95 F250 rekeyed so I have two keys.
2) I would think you can still get an operators manual froma local ford dealer in your are. If not there is a place on line that can geyt you one check in the vendors list here at FTE
3) I can tell you for sure if your truck was a USAF vehicle there is a record for it, and when they sold it all of the history or (birth certificate, as GSA calls them) went with the vehicle and who ever sold it to you if it was a dealewr should have included the paper work. The reason I say thast is I used to work for the USN PWC, and before I went out on disability retirement earlier this year , got allthe paper work for vehicle going to auction ready and had to include the service records of all the vehicles.
4) Also if it was a GSA (govt. services agency) or USAF vehicle it was recalled. A good way to check and I got this from the Foreman of the Heavy Duty Repair Shop on the Naval station and I quote " have him take the vechicle to any Ford Dealer that services and sell Ford Pick up Trucks, ask them to run the vin and check for any Recalls pending, if the Vehicle has recalls pending and or they have been completed the Frod Dealer can tell and by Federal Law they have to fix the recalls. "
Good luck
Pat
I have another problem. I hope someone can help me. I need the throttle lever. Either i get the exact measure to make it my own or someone can ask a junk yard, for this part. If i ask a junk yard with an email from Germany for this little sheet, they are only laughing ... I will buy new door locks, a locksmith will be more expensive.
Thanks Andy
