CHECK ENGINE light
In my '91 aerostar however, after about 15 mins. of driving, the CHECK ENGINE light comes on. This light will stay on during the rest of the drive. I did notice that if you turn the van off and right back on, the light will not come back on for about 15 mins. I am wondering if anyone could help me out and let me know what this could be. THank you!
-one more thing - the idle speed seems to be increasing and decreasing a little bit - in other words the idle is fluctuating a bit when this light is on. and i have the 4.0 L engine if that helps.

CHECK ENGINE light
Try cleaning the MAF sensor with brake cleaner. You will find it in the rubber hose between the air filter and the engine. You will need a special torx bit (you can get one at NAPA for a few dollars).
If this doesn't do it take the air intake off and clean the throttle plate with carb cleaner.
