Hi guys/gals,
I'm trying to visually id an engine a friend picked up. Ford V8 with really short valve covers. Oil breather up front but otherwise it looks like a 289 including a 5 bolt bellhousing. If memory serves me right casting numbers indicated '63?
Do any of you have a picture of a 260 that might help? Or any ideas what I should look for.
Thanks! - Tim
Bouncing around the web I think I have seen a set of the 221-260-289 sequence, probably a Ford publicity photo that was copied, but have no idea where.
Pam
I did a 221-260 swap in my 1962 Fairlane in summer 1969. The only real exterior difference was the exhaust manifolds.
