I have a stock 351C 2V engine that had single exhaust. It came rated at 250hp. I have added an elderbrock performer intake with a Holley 600CFM. I have added headers w/ dual exhaust and am adding a MSD 6AL with new Billet Distributor and SS Blaster Coil.
Does anyone know approximately how many more horses these additions will add to the stock engine? Is there anything else I can do without going into the engine to add additional horsepower?
i don't know how much power that will add, but it sounds like to me that you got all your basic bolt-on power adders covered. if your still looking for power and got the money i would go ahead and get i new cam. hope you get the power your looking for.
Dyno 2000 says 289 HP @ 4500 RPM with a stock street/economy cam. That jumps to 345 HP @5500 RPM when you switch to a street/perfrormance cam. A Comp Cams 275DEH will give you 354 HP @5500 RPM.
Before you change cams, think about what kind of vehicle the motor is in and how it is used. While an agressive cam will give you more power at high RPM, it won't be very good for towing your Camper Trailer.
You might do well by replacing the stock cam, but pick one that puts the power where you use it.
