TTB/SA spindle interchange question

i know everything from the spindle out swaps between the two (at least for my year), but do the spindles themselves interchage? I picked up my solid 44, but had to drop it off and go back to school so it's not like i can just go out and pull the outer down to find out. I'm seriously considering using my TTB outers to convert my 9" to full float, but i have a couple of ideas bouncing around right now that revolve around teh spindles interchanging.

EDIT: mainly are they the same length. i figure they're both the 5 stud pattern like the TTB, but can someone confirm/deny that?

no, actually you will need new spindles as the bolt pattern isn't the same. the ttb uses a much smaller bolt pattern than the solid axles.

i'm not trying to swap spindles between the axles, i'm looking to full float a 9". i've found out everything i need to know except if they are the same length as one another.

pre 78 chevy d44 spindles are the ticket for that. They will share 4 out of the 6 holes with the 9", just weld on some tabs top and bottom for the other two.
