how to modify your air intake
I took off the plastic protective flap that is behind the grill. Noticed that their was a opening through the metal strut which led to the air box. I took out the tube which is inside the airbox and reversed it so that the square end was facing the grill. I then pushed it through the metal strut from the front side (had to move some wiring). So the square outer part is now just behing my grill and the round tube goes into the air box.
The new grill is open from headlight to headlight with parallel bars so I now have plenty of airflow to my K and N filter. It's now a straight shot into my airbox with nothing in the way, at speed it should be really ram air!
Of course everything in the world will also get rammed in! Will probably have to clean the K&N more often. In fact wouldn't try with a regular filter. Have no idea how it will work. just finished- hope I don't regret it.
