I also posted this on the Super Duty forum, didn't get many replies.
Dealer says the idle control box is not available for the 05's. What would be different between the 04's and 05's, that would require a different idle controller box?
What exactly are "jewel effect" headlights. Do they actually put more light down the road?
Supposedly the basic idle control functions are now built into the truck. Not sure what you do if you need the more esoteric idle control functions, like PTO control.
So your saying, that if I'm sitting there for more than 15 minutes, running the AC, the 05 will raise the rpms itself?
No I'm saying that the new trucks have some standard built-in way to manually dial up the idle speed, much like you could do by pressing buttons on the older AIC. I haven't seen or played with a new truck enough to really know the details, maybe one of the lucky '05 owners on here can fill us in?
Oh, Ok. I kept the 05 I took for a test drive all day on a Saturday. Didn't see anything like that. The manual was still shrink-wrapped, so I didn't get to read through it. They don't list that feature in the brochure, and the salesman of course, are not familier with the 05's yet. (at least at my dealer)
