requested DSB Form
It appears to have the Power Loss issues... PCM module has been replaced, and parts of the wiring harness as well. I am only a month or so away from using my truck to haul a horse trailer and horses, and I can't have it break down again.
Anyway, my question is, the Regional Zone MGR has called me and wants me to bring the truck in and let em try to fix it again. I was thinking I should go ahead and let them do it. Should I take it in , meet with him and tell him I have lost "all faith" and want another truck or should I take it in and continue with the DSB process.
I want out of this truck!
If you have enough recorded history, and documentation I wouldn't hesitate.
Get your money back...
otherwise...problems are likely to get worse.
good luck
Will ford buy back full amount or discount milage...?
Then there's your lost time...did ford assist with picking up the cost of breaking down? Time is money.
best of luck

have all your documentation ready...
be factual, firm, and READY to make a decision... (know what you will accept! )
it's all a negotiation...
when I got my new 03 for the 02 - i didn't pay a mileage charge and got a 2k credit toward the upgrade from 4x2 7.3l to 4x4 6.0l .....
When I was stranded in Chicago, I ended up flying home and flying back, because they couldn't give me a time for completion, and I DO HAVE A JOB, or at least I wanted to Keep my job. They said they would pay $100 for my inconvenience.. woo hoo.
Just the hard costs of Hotel and Airlines was $400 something.. not to mention my time, etc. The real kick in the pants was when they told me Ford's Truck warranty doesn't have a loaner car provision.. I was real happy then.
1st time it died 15k miles
2nd time it died 16k miles (1 week later actually)
3rd time it acted up @ 23k miles (last week)

I just can't fathom this. Seems like just about everyone here from anyplace other than Missouri doesn't get loaners, and constantly have problems with their truck.. The only prob I've had is the intercooler pipe recall and had my rear diff re-sealed. Both times my dealer gave me a loaner. Plus is was comparable in the fact it was my truck but once it was an 04 and the other wan an 05. What exactly are your dealers like out there??? To top that off all of the dealers out east just seem dumb. How can they not know what is wrong. So anyhow, hopefully someone on here can recommend a dealer right around you that actually knows these trucks. I have said it many of times and I will say it again, check the tech number on your invoice and ask to see his crudentials. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A DIESEL TECH working on your truck. If you don't, or they won't provide records. Then there is something seriously wrong. A buddy of mine found out he had a gasser tech working on his, they had it 21 days and still couldn't find anything wrong with it, he filed with the board and the dealer definately did not want it to go to board. Within one week of him finding out about the tech, the dealer cut him a check for 21 days lost pay, and that month's truck payment. Needless to say he took it to my dealer and in 4 days they had it diagnosed and completely rebuilt the heads. IN 4 DAYS!!! I truely believe there is something extremely wrong with some dealers out there. Just two days I received an e-mail from a gentleman on here who I gave the same advice to. He also found out his dealer had a gasser tech working on his truck. He proceeded with the rest of my advice and took it to another dealer, they had it fixed in 2 days!!!! If I was you I would definately let them have one more try at it. I would talk to the gm and ask him who is the most senior Diesel Tech in your area, he will definately have this information available, tell him you want that guy, and him ONLY to work on it this one last time. I bet you will be surprised what happens. He very well might have it fixed in just a couple days.
TIM: The problem with gasser techs working on our $45k+ investment, and bad dealers is becoming REDICULOUS!!!. Would it be possible to start a sticky ( I know we have a lot, but this could be extremely beneficial for everyone!) that posts dealers to stay away from, and dealers they would recommend in their area. I realize this could get quite large, but in the end it might save tremendous amounts of space by just have a database of bad/good dealers. I will be more than happy to post my incredible dealer and also the dealer that had my buddies truck for 21 days and still couldn't find anything wrong with it. Something needs to be done to help people out, with the fact that dealers are getting WAY too cheap and not letting the appropriate personel work on the appropriate vehicle. In the end the "Customer" is paying the price for their incompetence and ultimately their negligence!!
Best of Luck,
Corey

I'd go the route of a dealer/rep/ford voluntary buy back first. But don't let them get away with anything. A DSB ruling in your favor would get you a complete buy back in most states + taxes. Probably minus a mileage deduction, though. So make sure you don't have to pay thousands of dollars to get a new one. If you feel like you're getting hosed, you probably are.

Oh yeah, a buddy of mine learned the hard way....never tell them you use the truck commercially they will reject the claim immediately. This issue is going to have a lawsuit wrapped around it in a minute..because F250 are concerned commercial class vehicles.
I am currently involved in a battle with ford for a new truck. I am looking for some info about a special service message 17530 that ford sent out some months ago. Any info about this ssm would be greatly appreciated.

6.0 Moan/Droan Between 1500-2000 RPM:
Engineering has investigated this condition and found the cause to be engine firing pulses causing the turbo mounts to vibrate/resonate. There is a revised turbo pedestal: for trucks built Through 9-29-03 use P/N 3C3Z-6N639-BA; after 9-29-03 use 5C3Z-6N639-AA. Ensure the droan is not caused by a bound exhaust system. Inspect for any damaged or broken exhaust hangers. Check the turbo downpipe by loosening the pipe at the top and bottom, checking its alignment and retightening. If the droan is still present, check the part number embossed on the turbo pedestal just below the turbo compressor outlet to the intercooler. If the number IS NOT 1846207C1, replace the pedestal with the above part. After replacement, or if the number IS 1846207C1, loosen the turbo inlet pipes and EGR cooler flange and neutralize by installing the components in this order: snug the flange between the LH and RH inlet pipes; torque the EGR cooler clamp to 53 in/lbs; torque the pedestal bolts to 23 ft/lbs; torque the turbo inlet clamp to 9 ft/lbs: snug the inlet pipes to manifolds. Ensure all components are properly aligned. Torque the flange between the LH and RH inlet pipes to 20 ft/lbs and the inlet pies to the manifolds to 20 ft/lbs.
