having questions about swapping out motor, i have a 351w that has a 30 over bore that's as much as i know about the exstint of work done . i bought the truck about a year ago it runs fine pulls good but its getting about 6-8 mpg ? and its starting to take a toll at $2.35 a gallon it has a c-6 i resently put the stock gears back in the rear end so i could use it in four wheel drive the guy i bought it from draged raced it so he put 4.11 in it . when the truck came from the factory it had a four speed manual, so all the clutch linkage is still in the cab what i was wondering what would be the best economical way to go wanting to not loose power to turn 33's and minable towing but to get better mpgs for a daily drivin rig .
got a question about motor swap need to improve mpg and sure the best way would be to pull the stock car 351w built motor out and swap with a stock or mild build. not knowing exactly what was done to the motor other than it has been bored and dumped full of money by preveus owner. my truck has a 4 inch lift and turns 33s quit easliy now but gets -6-8 mpg has c6 and origanl linkage for the manual so i was wondering what would be a good bet for a swap trying to not spend a bunch of $ would either get a whole truck and pull the motor trans combo if eqipped W/ 4 speed or just replace the motor which leads to my question what would be a good bet for my tuck
