I have a 04 F350 with 3k miles on it when I bak up and turn there is a shutter that feels like the rear end is about to lock up but it goes away by the time I get to the dealership for them to look at it.
Don't they always do that when they know they're on their way to the mechanics? LOL. Could be a few things, like a worn out u-joint or in need of friction modifier in the rear differential. Those are easy to fix. Check the driveshaft for looseness at the u-joints and if there is none and you have a limited slip rear differential in the truck, go down to the dealer and purchase a bottle of friction modifier and put it in the rear end oil and drive it around to see if that solves the problem.
Do you have a limited slip rear diff? ,if so, you should ask them to change the fluid and add the proper amount of friction modifier.Your shudder is problably the ls unit alittle tight from the factory or they left the friction modifier out.
Common problem.

I noticed yesterday in my '04 F-250 it made a weird shutter on and off when I took off from a light real hard. It was a in and out shutter/vibration until I let off.

Wonder if it is rear end related?
It's most likely not your rear end. Could possibly be tour Torque converter though.
I had the same problem in my 99 wrangler with a limited slip. Went to the dealer and turned out they did forget the modifier in the rear diff. They put it in and no noise. Either way tell the dealer what you think it is. You would be amazed at what they dont think of.
I have an RVing friend with an '04 King Ranch Crew Cab dually that had the same problem just recently. He took it back to Ford and they had a service bulletin for the Limited Slip differential. Seems when they refilled it they put in an additive and he hasn't had the same problem.
Can this same "shudder/lock-up' problem also cause excessive wear on the front tires?
Our '04 Explorerer needed the rear end replaced at 10k miles. It 5k when we bought it and it was making noise then. The L/S unit failed. I talked to the tech and he said they have replaced them in all of the truck lines. So far no one has brought one back in after it was replaced.
The shutter on acceleration may be the carrier bearing needs to be shimed if it is a SC or CC.
