Special tool

I need to remove the light switch and wiper control ***** on my 84 Bronco. Haines manuel says that a special hooked tool is required to properly release the springs. I need to remove the dash to replace the bulbs. I dont want to break them and end up with the ***** of duct tape on sticks look like my old ford.
Has anyone ever done this by jury rigging something?

How did you get it in behind the ***** to release the springs? I thought the end had to be hooked.

You don't have to be right behind, at a right angle will work or bend a coat hanger. Anyway give it a try, its not so bad.

Thanks. I totally broke the ones in my old 88 F150, and had to wrap duct tape into a ball to use them. Definately not something Stacey on Trucks! would do...... Besides, I love this Bronco too much to break one little thing.....on purpose.
