I just found this and not sure if it is a gem or not. I have been browsing and not seeing much on the truck I have. I have read where long beds may not be as desirable as short (not sure why other than looks) Any hints what to do with my truck. Should I work on restoring or should I just enjoy it as a kool driver. I dont work on trucks much but looks like fun... Is it going to be expensive to do? I have lots of questions since im new at this...I just found it and couldnt resist buying it.
1964 F250 Long Bed 292 motor...looks original its all rusty lol...it does leak somewhere but runs good...has a hard time starting now and then it clanks a few times not sure where yet...could be starter or cylenoid.
HELP!!!
I have a 64 F100 longbed and I can tell you if you have to replace your bed the parts are few and far between.Pick-a-Part junkyards can be good place to find bodyparts if you need them for a decent price.Your clunk could be in your drivetrain.Check the U-joints and carrierbering on the driveshaft. If I were you I would drive it for awhile before, you decide what you want to do with it.
awsome truck it looks verry clean i agree drive it a bit than you can decide myself id say first have a mechanic you trust. put it on a rack and give it a GOOD INSPECTION. drive line breaks find the leak. than id look over the post in here and see what you want to do. theskyis the limit ant its a good project / learning vehicle. if you dont mind what did you pay for it?
partscan be hard to find and can get pricy butt its not hard to work on thies as they are quite forgiving.
Well to be honest I am not sure...I have to clean it up really good. It has oil all underneath from the engine back. most of it looked like it was under trans area. It only had a leak after I ran it from where i bought it to my house. 15 miles.. then when sitting for a day no more leaks lol...I will get it steamed or something to get oil off and see what happens...
1k looks like you got a deal pard cuzz thay aint making no more of thies beuties. The leak is typicial warm it up seals relax and leek put a fresh clean piece of card board under it if its dark itsoil fi its redish its tranny. ok now ill bet its a manual right lol

I'm pretty sure that was the truck listed on eBay. I remember it being at a dealership but can't be absolutely positive on the location Since you did visit my site, you should understand why I asked bout your fish

Thanks for visiting my site I'm glad that your son made it through, that's a risky procedure. I have an updated version of Maria's story. Just have to put a couple of finishing touches on it before it's good to go.
They do, but they don't go back far enough The oldest entry I found was back in Aug 29th. The auction I was looking at was older, I had just came back from Hot August Nights, so it was closer to the 12th of Aug when I saw it.
Hi, If you clank is on startup, check the starter is tight. Another is if a spring has fallen out of the clutch it will roll arround a clank (if you have a manual trans) also check the rear end fluid....
