Hi ! I'm new here and no computer whizz either. I'm kinda old but looking for new truck since I sold my '86 chevy. Looks like Ford has most of what I want. I will be looking for a 250 Reg.Cab (hard to find) and will order special when there are some good incentives. I like the V10 and have been reading everything I can find on it. Don't understand why you can get 3.73 gears with the 5.4 and the PS but not with the V10. With V10 you can have 4.10 or 4.30. I'd like to know the reasoning behind that. We rented a good sized motorhome in Alaska a couple years ago and was impressed with the V10 power and pleasantly surprised at the gas mileage. It varied I think mostly because I didn't fill the tank the same each time but the low was 10 and the high was 17 with a 14 av.
I need to look over all the info here at FTE and maybe the answer is already here someplace.
I believe Regular Cabs are only available in XL and XLT models...
As for why you can only order 4.10 or 4.30... I'm not sure if that's true, but if it is, I can only guess that Ford just chooses to do so for it's own reasons... or maybe it's because the V10 needs all the help it can get (read: get a PSD). Just messing with you, from all I know the V10 is a great engine, too!
Also, you can use the advanced search function to really find a TON of good stuff from past threads.
