JW, No reason not to. You will need a 4.10 rear end to deal with the low ratio in OD. Ford built some I6s with 3.08s but I doubt they would pull the hat off your head. You have to maintain some balance between engine power and rear ratios. If you gear one too high it will use a lot more gas because it is in a strain all of the time.
