g'day all,
i have a 71model f100 with a bit of a tired 351c, c4,and 4.11 diff gears i would like to know if its much drama throwing in a 460 and c6. i've heard a lot of "stories" but no one really knew for sure, i am also in australia so finding a 460 is a little challangeing also. And while im here, i've noticed on other forums the motor 351M pardon my stupidity, but what the hell is the 'M' for
cheers

you will need 460 truck mounts both on the frame and motor.you will also need the truck exhaust manifold on pass, side and driveshaft.a drive shaft should be no problem, but im guessing your thinking of a car engine.you will either have to find the right parts or make them.
No drama for the swap really. The 460/C6 combo will be pretty easy, just get a set of engine shands from a later year truck that had/has a 460 and bolt them in place of your current stands. The 351w and 351c share the small block bell housing patterns where the 351m(modified)/400 share the "big block" patterns with the 429/460.
I may be mistaken, but I look at the 351c as being the in between transitional motor, sharing some of the small block items with the castings and abilities of the big block, but I have been wrong before The bell housing and the water neck inlet are the keys to idenifying the 351's from each other.
thanks guys, i have a set of pacemakers on the truck at the moment and they were a tight-ish fit on the drivers side( im in aus so thats the right side). i imagine a set of 460 extractors is gunna be a bit harder.... but at the end of the day if its to hard its ON WITH A BLOWER!!! but i do like the sound of a big block!!!
