What should I replace/repair while engine is out
I've got the engine out of my '67 f100 lwb 4x2 chasing down the reason I have no oil pressure. (See the ongoing saga in the FE forum)
I'm doing a new rear main seal, clutch, and painting the engine bay while the engine is out. What else should I do to take advantage of the easy access while the motor is out?

check every nut and bolt under the hood. if you dont have power steering, now is the time. check the crossmember between the radius arms, make sure it is tight and solid. make sure you clean the frame real good, and look at the brake lines down on the frame. they are much easier to change if they are rusting or mangled.

Yup and check all bushings, tie rod ends, king pins, cab corners, inner fenders, and I'd replace all the heater core hoses, radiator hoses, fuel and the likewise while you've got it all out, be alot cleaner and easier now than later!!

Check the motor mounts. When I put in my 390 we used the best 2 out of 4 that we had. I just put on my headers, had to lift the motor and it turns out both mounts were ripped in half. I put new ones in for $40 ca. The old girl sure feels a lot different with the motor actually connected to the frame
