Cleaning out engine with seafoam
Also any other suggestions to get the performance and mileage back up withought breaking the bank. And what is a pcv how easy and expencive is it to replace I'v heard its something you want to replace if getting bad gas mileage.
& to just modify their formula just a tad (cost may be a slight issue ) list of
required items 3 cans of seafoam the deepcreap & one can of 3M throttle plate
cleaner & last on the list one new motorcraft fuel filter : use as follows replace fuel filter then 2 of the 3 cans of seafoam in the fuel tank & make sure you have only about 1/4 or less of a tank of fuel put the two cans in the tank then fill tank to the neck with a high quality fuel like shell V POWER highly
recomended. Then spray down the pcv valve with the 3M cleaner let it soak if necessary the replace valve, now do the seafoam in the oil 2oz of it. Now here comes the slight mod to the bottle way instead of letting the seafoam sit in the engine for 10 min let it sit for an hour & then go back & let the engine sip down (thru the pcv vaccume line) another 3oz slowly & respray with the deepcreap then let it sit for 30 min then do as the bottle says to drive the vehicle for 5 to 10 miles at a safe highway speed. After the spirited drive change the oil within 100 miles of the cleaning. And again I would recomend another fine shell product the rotella T 5-40 synthetic & as the miles go by you will find power that the engine always had but was not being maximixed. In 6K miles do the seafoam treatment again & use about 4 to 5oz in the oil this time & drive for 200to300 miles till next oil change. Mileage, power, emissions & quietness should all improve more than a noticeable amount.

thanks again
length of the cover it has a vaccume line running to it & plugs into the cover it self,as
far as it's main function it recycles the crankcase air back again thru the combustion
process where the cats process this air to help reduce emissions henceforth positive crankcase ventalation ( P C V ). A good old fasion air pump would be superior but is no longer cost effective.

You have a '99. How many miles on it? Have you done the routine maintenence as prescribed by the owners manual? This is where you should start. Unless you have a specific DTC (diagnostic trouble code) to address "catching-up" on your routine maintenence is a MUST.
If you are due for a PCV valve, I'd suggest also replacing the vacuum hose (that runs to the TB) and its "elbo" connecter as well. These have been known to cause vacuum leaks (which in turn cause "lean condition" and driveability problems).
Cost?... I think the PCV valve is under $10 bucks. And the vacuum hose with "elbo" which connects to the back of the TB (only available from Ford) under $20 bucks. How easy to replace? Just "pull" out the old and "push in" the new.
Good Luck,
Bill
