I'm a BAAAAAD boy...
Short version:
Duramess and Beast playing a little tag on I-30.
Bofus step off at the highway @ same exit.
Then we two step a little bit til the next light.
There we are...side by side...dark out out so I can't see his face but slightly reared up horses are talkin' plently loud enough.
Slight power brake to get the ponies boosted up.
Light turns green. Duramess takes off like greased lightnin' leaving me and my Beast sittin' there staring at those red lights as they got smaller and smaller...oh...oops...not the chevy tail lights...
...those small little red lights was my speeder meter lights flashing at full bore and making all kinds of racket. Daaang it.
You know...those blue and red flashing lights sure are bright at night...and they look a lot better when you are approaching them instead of when they are approaching you.
Yep...PO LEASE got him, large. As I slowly passed, (ever so slowly) I rolled down the window and smiled and waved, being the friendly Texican that I am.
So there you go...I confess...I'm a BAAAAAD boy.
I sure shouldn't have waved like that.

I had the same experience a few years ago. I was driving a Porsche 928 and got absolutely smoked by a hopped up Cobra Mustang. The guy was so far ahead of me that the cop didn't even know we were racing and he only chased down the Mustang. Course....rather than drive by I ducked into a subdivision and disappeared into the night.....

I have to admit that it was fun. 
The trick was not in the plan until we got to the light and the speeder meter lights went off like a NYC Christmas tree.
When we...well..he...took off it was only then that I noticed he had Oklahoma license plates.
To Texicans, anything north of the mighty Red River is considered Yankee land.
No offense to our northern 6.0 neighbors.
