Block heater question

This is kind of a silly question. Soon I will have installed a good car starter to start my truck up in these cold canadian winters, When I go to sleep I will plug in the block heater but I dont really want to go outside to unplug it in the morning until I am leaving. Will I do harm to the block heater if its plugged in and the truck is running through its car starter cycle. The last thing I want to do is burn out the block heater. Thanks for any info...

well, here's my nickel ... When the block heater is plugged in, I was told there are bubbles moving around due to "boiling" the water to keep it hot. I never started my truck with the heater plugged in. Mental thing or not, I really cant say. I was always afraid of cavitation problems - air bubbles (embalisms) flying around the cooling system. Besides, my mental thing is about shot. Hope this helps you out, but its all up to your descretion.
