Front/Rear Alignment question?

It's either me or....but I've noticed on several of the newer designed Explorers with the independant rear suspension..that the rear wheels seemed to me to be somewhat out of alignment?? in other words, on my own 2002, in looking at the rear end, it appears that my tires are not running true vertical ( | | ) but rather bowed out( / \ ) I was told this was an illusion because it's being compared to the body...but I have to tell ya the rear tires are wearing on the inside...and thats not an illusion...did Ford do this in order to help with previous rollover issues??? or does the new rear inependant suspensions have to be aligned like the front??? I did ask a guy at the dealership...not sure what he did...but just got a shoulder shrug...
