4x2 Range Front End Noise
I have a 1998 Ranger XLT 4x2 Extra Cab. The front end has some problems. When you drive it at any speed you can hear a noise coming from the front end. You can also feel something through the steering wheel. I already changed the shocks, checked the brakes, re-packed the bearings and checked the bushings. I think it is coming from the steering box because when you bounce the truck, you can hear a noise coming from under the rubber cover on the drivers side. Is there any way to lube that? Or do I have to replace the whole steering box?

should be a plastic cover on the bottom of the steering box where the hoses screw in..pull that back and check the knuckle joint..in some cases it's like a small UJoint..check to see if that is bad.
