Lug Nut Woes
Anyway, the lug nuts were 1.37" deep and with the studs sticking out 1.29", it was close but they seated and torqued ok to 90 ft. lbs. The locking lug nuts did not work. They were 1.06" deep and with 1.29" studs, bottomed out before touching the wheel. So, NTB gave me another set, these are the ones McGard suggests for a 2002 F150. They are 2" deep and over 3" LONG. They stick out from the wheel so far that it would be an easy task with a pair of vise grips to remove them. Which cancels out their intended purpose. I don't get it. Any ideas other than going back to stock wheels?
By the way, I did a search on lug nuts here and got a lot of valuable information. This is a great website and thanks to the folks that run it.
Regarding the hub-centric and lug-centric wheel issue: I was curious about my American Racing Pythons, so I pulled the center caps off and put the wheel on. These wheels are really hub-centric, yet have a cone seat on the lugs. The wheel fits on a round hub in the middle both on the front and back wheels. So all of the wheel is resting on these hubs, not just the studs. So it appears to be the best of both worlds. There was some lube from the factory on the studs already so I torqued the nuts in a star pattern at 85 ft. /lbs. which is the low end of the torque spec.
Good luck y'all!

I'm sure it will come in handy sometime for someone.
Now all that's left for you to do is set up a gallery in your User CP at the top of the page so we can all see what it looks like with your new wheels

Thanks, Bob
