Pulling codes for free ?
I heard Autozone pulls some codes for free? Is there any where's else that pulls codes for free VIP, Sears etc? What are the cheaper code readers I can get for an 1987 F150, I heard there are some for about 30.00? Where?? Whats a good brand? Thanks guys!

A code scanner costs me ~$1, and I get a whole box of them. Pay the $15 for a haynes manual, and the ~$1 for a box of paper clips, you short 2 connectors and watch the check engine light flash.

Never pulled codes on my truck
Thanks EPNCSU2006 Thats was what i was thinking i have never seen the check engine lite come on during my 140,000 
i have an 87 f150 2x4 with no ac, 4.9 is that like yours. Is pulling codes with a volt meter in the Haines manual? What's it under ? I did an advance search here and cant find much, what should i enter? i used "pulling codes" Thanks!!
