Straight pipe?
Straight pipe?
I'm getting a 87 F150 with a 302 next week, and I was reading alot of posts, I noticed you guys either like glasspacks or Flowmasters. I had a glasspack on one of my older cars, granted it was only a V6, but I thought it was too quiet(I could barely hear it), sounded like ***, and I didn't like the snap I got when I floored it then let off. Flowmasters aren't the greatest things for flow, and it seems like everybody has them. I was wondering if any of you guys ran straight pipes? I had straight pipe on my T-Bird and it wasn't very loud at all, I was wondering if it would be the same with a 150?
I was just going to keep the stock exhaust almost all the way to the back, grind the muffler off, then get a muffler shop to bend me a y-pipe so I could run straight pipe fake dual with some nice tips out the back.

Nidex, straight pipes with no mufflers are a bit harsh for me. If you want something loud, consider a single chamber Flowmaster or Imco muffler, and then run the dual pipes out the back. These mufflers have very good flow and will tone it down slightly.
