Cd Changer For 1996 Ford Explorer Eb
I just read the post on 1998 radio problems and was impressed with the info provided. one in particular was a person who posted the web address to radios and more: WWW.radiosandmore.com
i checked out the site and found the customer service number to them and called. These guys know their sh#t!!!....i had posted a problem with my jbl radio that came with my 1996 ford explorer EB. the volume level is ok on everything,AM/CD Cassette...but when i switch to the FM station, i have to crank the volume to the max to hear something....i tried everything from the replys from this site but no luck..when i spoke to the service technician from radios and more, he told me it was a silver box thats located on the rear passenger side its called RCM box...it basically controls the tuner and some other things. he recommened that i should ship the unit to united radio and for flat rate of $75.00, i can have the problem taken care of....my thing is...how do i get to this unit...do i need special tools to get to this unit???

It shold be located in the rear of you Explorer, behind the panel. Relatively easy to get to. You need to remove the rear safety belt that is attached at the top. A large torx is needed. Not sure what size. Otherwise, if I remember correctly, the rest of the panel pulls off. It's held in by friction fasteners.
