Good Deal?
I am looking at a 71' Ford Ranger XT. It need a new transmission and a little body work. And a new interior. The guy wants $500. Does anyone think this is a good deal because i want to fix it up for a working/off road truck.

So you got a 71 Ranger. Ha ha. Not to be nitpicky, but that's a full sized truck, isn't it?
Anyway, what does it have for an engine? Rear end? Is all the glass there, ie not broken? Does the heater work? Have you priced out a new tranny?
Bottom line, does it drive NOW? Or do you need to install the tranny first?
$500 for a truck is cheap, running or not. Some people buy parts trucks for more than that, so I would say you're getting a deal.
