As I've got an '89 w/3.0l, I don't have a whole lot of '90 4.0l reference stuff around, but the Chiltons (8057 26100 ('86-96) shows this:

I've got two vehicles (a '91, which is a California model, and a '95) with the 4.0, and neither have an EGR. I doubt yours does.
