I must say, in defense of the duramax, it is no slouch. I used to own a 02 dmax before I traded it for a 04 6.0 PSD. I don't race my truck, and feel it has adequate power to pull even the heaviest loads in stock form (in my opinion). However, in a stock for stock comparsion there is no question who the victor will be - 6.0 PSD!
Dude I think you did very well. If your sig is up to date and all your running is a muffler delete. Are you still running the small tires in your gallery pics, 295s 305s ??? The 6 inch lift still creates a good amount of aerodynamic resistance over a stock truck so you have to take that into account also. You guys with the 6.0 have it great. I got pulled pretty hard by a stock 2wd F 250 xl work truck with a 6.0 the other day and my 7.3 dynoed 236 rwhp and 570 rwtq. I was bangin gears in my 6-speed as fast as i could and he had a car and a half on me by 80mph going uphill.
It really speaks wonders about the 6.0 PSD that you were that close to a modded Duramax. If you get the Predator it will be a different story next time!

yeah, truck is still lifted, and still running 295's (33's).... i figure once i go with 35's, it will be more of a dog down low, but at speed it should help me a bit. i was very proud of my 6 considering how that thing sounded, and how much smoke it dumped....
With 35's it is not a dog at all down low with a few mods. Even without a tuner or module it was not too bad down low with the bigger tires. Just ask my wife. She hated it when I finally got around to putting all of my mods in the truck. No, I have not dyno'd it yet choctaw Bob but as soon as I do I will post the results for Banks like I said I would. Just have not had time with the end of summer already here.
I got to drive a brand new Duramax today and I have to say it was a nice truck very comfy, very soft suspension for a 2500. I know they can be modded quite a bit, but in stock performance that thing really lacked the "oomph" you get from the 6.0. Stock versus stock I didnt feel any worthy competition.
I dont like to knock the other brands but I dont see much durability in the GM in comparison. You just dont get the "big tough heavy duty 4x4" feeling with it. But of course thats not what everybody is looking for, and if everybody went out and bought Fords than ours wouldnt be so cool.
Your not the first to have a D-Max get by you. When my truck was running stock I had a D-Max get by me just barely. He smoked like an old freight train and got a good run on me before passing, I was not impressed, nor could I see him from the excessive fueling. With the Predator now, I hope to him again someday. A Chevy guy will never tell his buddies the Ford was stock.
I am a Chevrolet person driving a Ford.....so that may tell you something about the D-Max...not brand loyal in a global world anymore......NUFF said!
I had to cackle today when traffic was slowed because one of the landscapers rigs with the lawnmowers on the back was being towed after breaking down...
My wife told me not to cackle since it was a Dodge with the trailer and a strap on the front being pulled by a new FX4
And last night we pulled up next to a Dodge and my wife looked down and said it had a Hemi....
I asked her if she knew that that meant it had half the HP our truck did
