Driver side wheel issue
About 3k miles ago my driver side front wheel was emitting a high pitch squeal. It would only do it after it warmed up, or was spinning at high speed for a few mins. Anyway, when I finally got it to do it while a mechanic was with me we decided it had to be a wheel bearing. So a large chunk of pocket change later the whole bearing assembly was replaced with a brand new one. All was fine for 3k miles then one day I was coming off the highway and there was the squeal. Since then it's been on and off. Nothing in that general area seems so out of wack that it could mess up a new bearing that quick so I'm looking for ideas as to what else could be the cause or if anyone has had the same issue. Really all that's left there is the axle? Is there maybe a piece that comes loose and causes such a noise and was pushed back into place temporarily when the bearing assembly was replaced? The new assembly is still under warranty but it would be good to know if there's some known cheap part that falls apart rather than replacing another multi hundred dollar part.
