Vibration

Bought a 2000 F-150 et. cab. I have had it about 2 months now and Truck will shake and vibrate on occasion. The shaking will start up when I begin to drive and I can get it to stop by pulling over and stopping truck then starting up again. I have just put on new tires. I also need to have brakes checked. Any help before I take it in to shop would be great.

Hi Ronald and welcome to FTE

Does the vibration feel like it's coming from the front? Rear? Engine?
Is your truck a 4x4 or 4x2?
Is there anything in particular that sets off the vibration?

Having the brakes checked would be a good idea. Make sure they check the caliper slides as they seize up sometimes. You might also want to have them check the CV joints to see if there is any play in them, that the boots are good etc.
Are your tires in good shape? Have you had the steering and suspension checked to make sure that the tie rod ends and ball joints etc are ok?

Have not had anything checked yet. I was looking for ideas on what to have checked out when I bring it into the shop. The tires are new. Thanks for advise on what to have checked. I will post what I find out!
