Was driving to work today and needed to use the horn, (guy pulled out of a side street) and found out that my horn does not work on my '94 Bronco. Pressed the button a few more times, but to no avail. Worked the other day, but not now. Any suggestions as to where I need to begin looking for the problem. Would like to fix it myself and avoid taking it to the dealer. Any suggestions/thoughts would be appreciated
I dont have a wiring diagram for a 94 Bronco, but I think that horn cigarette lighter & cruise control are on the same fuse. If none of those are working, check the fuse. If horn & cruise are the only things not working check the clockspring. You might want to go here www.helminc.com & check out the Ford "electrical & vacuum trouble-shooting manual" Only 20 bucks & would be very helpful for fixing this.
Appreciate the post 87 XLT and the suggested "helminc.com" web site. Am going to contact them regarding a manual, if it is more than a fuse. Will check out the cruise control and lighter today. Thanks again !!
The cigarette lighter does work, however, the cruise control does not. With the horn and the cruise control not working, does that narrow it down pretty much to the clock spring? What do you think?? The fuse is fine, but do not know where to look for the relay. Can you advise?
If this is put together the way i think it is, the horn relay in the steering column provides voltage to the horn switch & cruise control buttons thru the clockspring. So it does sound like the clockspring is shot. Maybe one of the other guys will know how to change it, i've never done one. Good luck with it.
