Catalytic Converter
Hi,
I know that this is off-topic, but maybe you guys can help me. I have an 88 buick electra, and i bought it used a few years ago, ran fine, for a while, now nothing but problems. I Know i need a transmission, it just wont shift itself anymore. it bogs down accelerating from say around 40-60, and sometimes doesn't want to accelerate from a stop at all. Also sometimes it seems to run hot, but i don't have a temp. guage so i don't know how hot it actually is. i read another article on here about a van and somebody mentioned the CAT, and my car has 190,000+ miles so i'm wondering if that is a likely culprit of if something else is wrong. i had a compression chek run a while back, and all but one cylinder was fine, so i'm planning a re-build later on. but I want to get it running ok for now until I can afford the re-build. BTW it's a 5.0 liter 307cid.
