Alright, kind of a random question, but does anyone have like a favorite hat that they were constantly? I have one that says "FEAR THIS" and "Ford Powerstroke Diesel" on it that i wear all the time and it used to be blue, but it has faded to purple and is covered in grease and stuff. I keep my hats until they wear out, i had one that i wore until the back of it had holes in it big enough for me to put my hand through. So, tell me about your favorite hat...
Work hat(s)-Camo Pro Hunting Staff(in house)
Camo Old Milwaukee (in truck)
One in the house has a "film" of sweat, oil and grease all over it and adjusting strap is held together /w duct tape . One in truck is pract. new, only wear it on the farm. Reg hat, well I gotta keep it clean so I look good crusin in my truck .
I once bet a guy at work a free lunch over my hats.I made the comment that I could wear a different hat every day of the week for over a year.He said Yeah right, bla, bla, bla. So the bet was on!After about a month into it,a buddy of mine shows up at work and asks the guy if he had ever been in my garage? The guy says no why?My buddy then states, cause if you had,you would have seen about 6 or 7 hundred different ones hanging on the wall! Two of the other mechanics that have been in my garage started snickering,The guy says WHAT!You guys set me up!But he was a good sport and bought everybody pizza for lunch!
I had a John Deere hat I wore alot till all them punk kids started wearing them.
I mostly wear my straw Resistol. It's sweatstained, dirty, and all bent out of shape. Broke in just the way I like it and fits real good.
When it's time to get purdyd up (or just in the winter time) I had a black felt Resistol, but recently my dog had her way with it. Guess she didnt like it much, so I'll be buying another one soon.
Other than that there's a old Winchester ball cap I wear now and again.
I don't really have a favourite. I have hats for different occasions though.
My everyday hat is a plain black one with "Haldex" embroidered on it.
For family functions, I have a plain black hat with Mickey Mouse in sunglasses embroidered on it.
For camping, I got an Australian Outback "cowboy" hat.
For everything else, there's a plain black one with nothing on it, sometimes worn backwards. Or one of several toques with Peterbilt or Kenworth on them.
My favorite hat is black and says Polaris "True 4x4 on Demand". It hyas some mud spots here and there, and then some grease spots on it, which you can barley see (black hat)
My "used to be black but is now sun-bleached grey" Oakland Raiders hat. It stinks like a dirty sock (not unlike the Raiders last year) but is the most comfortable piece of clothing I own.
My fav hats are my two ford racing ones. One i keep clean for cruising in the truck or out on the town. The other is dirty, muddy, sweat stained and greasy...but it really is my favorite.
Every now and again you'll catch me wearing a cowboy hat...or nothing at all.
As a general rule I don't wear hats. The only exception is if I expect to be out in the sun all day. My receding hairline (sigh...) left me with an oozing/crusty forehead last spring (ouch). So I have a cheap, cheesey Wal-Mart fishing hat that I wear in the sun.
But I do have a favorite hat. I have an old, beat-up light brown felt fedora that belonged to my grandfather. Grampa always wore a hat, whether he was hoeing his garden, out and around town, or off to church. It's really the only thing I have to remember him (died 1986). It hangs in a special spot on the kitchen wall. My wife and sons never knew my grandfather, but they know what the hat means to me. None of them will touch it, but they understand when I wear it around the house every once in a while.
Funny how such an ordinary object can mean so much to a person.
I have an old black Nike hat that I got back in 6th grade, I'm now a sophmore at Ohio State. The ole hat has been washed so many times that all the black dye is out of it and it's now a faded brown color. It's partially retired, cuz it can't even stand up anymore on my head.....LOL
I keep one hat at a time. I wear it every day at work to keep the sun out of my eyes. When it wears out I buy one identical to it. It used to be a black hat with the "Volcom" stone. After two of those I realized white wouldn't UV fade so now I use a white hat with the "Independent" (Iron Cross) logo on it.
