I own an 04 F-250 SD srw regular cab with the 5.4, my problem is it has 1800 miles on it and it has a click when ever i put it in park and it rolls a little bit. i have no idea what it is but is drives me crazy
A slight tick is normal, when you put a auto tranny in Park and let it roll back. It's a slight clicking sound as the trans comes to rest on the peg. How loud is the tick?
Hmmm, I guess I am no help on this one. I am sure someone who is more knowledgable about the newer Ford tranny's will be by soon. Good luck. Have you been to your Ford dealer about this yet?
I have posted a question about the clicking in mine. It makes a cranking sound when rolling forward or stopping only from like 0-3mph and not in reverse only in d 2 or 1. A sound like someone turning a crank like a comealong or something. yours the same. No answers yet on that except is yours a 4X4?
When he shifted into drive or reverse, sometimes something in the drivetrian would make a loud clicking sound. The ford tec's had it for about a week, they put all the little microphones on the drivetrain. They could not figure it out. After about a couple of trips to the dealership he submitted the paperwork. The last I heard is that they were buying back the truck, well giving him a big credit towards a new one. But than I left for the little island next to hell itself, Guam. Haven't heard what happened next. I guess he got his new truck like he planned. He owned a F350 LB, CC, PSD auto tranny, 4X4
