Fair Puller Predator - Banks

Not starting a big debate here....track line, conditions and driver do effect all pulls.

Talked a friend of mine into buying the Predator instead of a fuel box. Warned him until he had his exhaust done to only load the the 65HP mode.

Fair Grounds had the local pull today, and in his class (15trucks)you had 3 identical trucks as far as weight...CC long beds 4x4

First truck was a Banks powered 7.3
Next was Banks 6 Gun 6.0H, he went 12 ft past the 7.3
Predator put 15 ft on the Banks 6 Gun in 65HP mode

Just an observation.

Never have done this, but have watched on TV...
I can't imagine the strain that puts on a 4x4 truck !!!!

Along with torque, would seem the tires are the real critical factor for this...

My guess would be 6. Only an idiot would try to win it in any other setting. But who really knows. I'm sure the gung-ho Banks spokespeople in this forum will have an in depth analysis and explanation to the tragic and unexplainable loss.

...Then why was the Predator run on 65 horse mode, instead of 100?

Do any of you guys pull your trucks?? If so any tips you can give me? All of my buddies have the cummins, I'm the only PSD, and they are assuring me that there is no way I can out pull them. Well that's just enough fuel to keep my fire burning HOT! This is the main reason I am going to get AIR Lockers. Any suggestions on gears? I was thinking either 4 low in 3rd. or 4 high in 1st. I know I need to get smaller tires, any ideas? According to the rule book 31x10.5 are the largest allowed. You can see what I already done to my truck in my profile. Stoping anything short of 300 ft. is not even an option -- Johan

The Banks was in the top level...not sure on the 7.3 I did not get a chance to talk to him. I loaded the 65HP for him because I told him not to run the 100HP without the exhaust. The weight transfer puts a real load on the truck, and I did not want him to chuck his turbo. Figured since he is new to the flash I would show him the first time and keep him from getting greedy.

No debate here, the 6 gun might have gave to much wheel spin, where the 65HP may have kept the truck moving better. To many variables here.

I know very little about you sport. I can only imagine that it has a ton of variables with in one run.

It was an open class, and a Dodge trailerd in from Indiana won the pull. He put another 28ft on my friends 6.0

Now to be fair, the Cummins had a value of all 3 Ford trucks put togeather just in his engine. They go by weight in an open, with CC being heavy he just went in that class not looking to win.

tim its possible to spend that much on a twin turbo, 800 horse powered beast. heck, you can spend close to 10,000 in a trans to hold that much power.
