Hi, My name is Ken, I have been into F350 1Tons for several years. I have a 1972 F350 dually flatbed that we used to use on the farm that I work on. I have put a lot of money in that old truck but I guess its been worth it. The biggest problem with the old girl is rust of course. I have recently purchased a 1997 F350 cab & chassis that I'm not sure what it had on it for a bed or a box but the frame looks identical to my 72. The leaf springs I notice are even the same. My question is what sizes of leaf springs are on those years of F350s. Maybe the difference is in super duty and heavy duty models. If someone could give me some width measurments I would appreciate it.
The difference for the Super Duty models is posted in the FAQ. I'm not sure what they are in the 1997 because the axle used in both SRW and DRW models is the 10.25".
SRW F350's '97-down to ?year have 3" wide rear springs.
Hi, Pidford here, My F350 is a DRW and the springs are only measure 2.25". I'm sure that the truck either had an ambullance bed or a box of some sort on it. I'm just trying to figure out what I really have since the springs aren't any wider than my 72 F350 DRW. Most of the F350s in the 97 era that I've looked at all seem to be the 3"rs and have heavier brackets also. I'm hoping I didn't get some kind of a mixed up mania if you know what I mean. Oh, and by the way, its got the Powerstroke in it, not that should make a difference on that.
