Haynes doesn't mention what type, but they do say to buy a kit with 3 (14oz) cans. And to get at least 1 red one to show leaks. Add 1 can at a time. I didn't see a mention of capacity or pressure. Never done it myself, this is one of the things I personally would pay to have done. I don't trust myself, and I don't want to polute the air.

In the absence of charge capacity data, you must charge based on pressures. This is how it's done when a system is low and you have no idea how much is in there. On a warm day (80 above), you should have roughly 35 PSI on the low side. Once the system is properly charged, you will probably discover that there is some left in the can. DON'T add the rest of it and overcharge unless you want to lose cooling performance. There sometimes is a misconception that the system is charged by dumping in the entire amount in the last can.
